What to do with the cremated remains of my loved ones?
There are several ways to handle your loved one’s cremated remains. In Singapore, many families choose to place the ashes in a columbarium, while others opt for a sea burial, making the ocean their loved one’s final resting place. A newer option is scattering the remains at the Inland Ash Scattering (IAS) facility at the Garden of Peace, Choa Chu Kang Cemetery. Other choices include keeping the ashes in a beautiful urn at home or preserving some in keepsake jewellery.
Ash Storage & Memorialisation?
1. Place ashes in a columbarium niche (Mandai, Choa Chu Kang, or private columbariums).
2. Sea Burial Option at designated locations.
3. Inland Ash Scattering at NEA approved venue (Garden of Peace)
Post-Funeral Matters?
1. Settling Legal & Financial Affairs
2. Memorial Services & Prayers
3. Closure & Grief Support
Are we paying too much for funeral arrangements?
Funeral costs in Singapore vary based on service type, duration, and religious customs.
Rather than focusing solely on price, it’s important to consider what’s included. A fair-priced funeral should cover essential services like the casket, wake setup, transportation, and necessary rituals—without unnecessary add-ons. Transparency is key, and a reputable funeral provider will offer clear pricing with no hidden fees.
Ultimately, a dignified farewell doesn’t have to be expensive—it should be meaningful, respectful, and within your budget. 💙
Why is preplanning important?
Life is unpredictable, and losing a loved one is an emotional and financial challenge.
Pre-planning a funeral ensures that your family is not burdened with difficult decisions during a time of grief.
